Install

Open the DMG and drag DualMac Companion to Applications.
Launch it — macOS verifies the notarization automatically.
Install Tailscale on the iPad and Mac and sign both into the same private tailnet.
Follow the pairing steps shown in the menu bar app, then confirm the pairing code on your iPad.

What it can do

Streaming — H.264, low latency, made for touch control.
Tools — shared clipboard, file transfer, wake your Mac.
Displays — pick which of the Mac's screens to show.

The Companion is optional. DualMac's classic VNC mode connects directly to macOS Screen Sharing without it.

Privacy

Companion has no Marius Labs account, analytics or developer-operated cloud backend. It talks directly to paired iPads on your Tailscale tailnet and checks dualmac.app for signed updates. Details are in the privacy policy.
